Hello! My name is Olivia Vignec and I am a senior in high school. I have been swimming competitively since 2013. I am a sprint freestyle swimmer and I also swim both sprint butterfly and backstroke. I currently attend Harrison School for the Arts. My bio says I swim for Lakeland Senior High School because I do athletics through Lakeland as Harrison is an art school. At Harrison I am part of the Creative Writing Department and I am cultivating my writing skills there, whereas at Lakeland, I am honing my leadership skills through the swim team. I have accomplished many things that I am proud of through both these programs including publishing several pieces of writing, being valedictorian of my sophomore class, and being elected as team captain for the swim team for 2 years. I have also participated in fundraisers that have increased my leadership skills, including Swim Across America, of which I am a team captain and part of the Jr Board. In August of 2020 I became a USA Swimming registered coach and began coaching the younger groups on my team. In the summer of 2021 I took on more responsibility and taught swim lessons as well. I was nominated and selected to attended Florida Swimming's Athlete Leadership Summit in December of 2020. As a student I am very motivated and I love to learn. My academic goal is to attend a college that challenges me intellectually and allows me to explore my interests. I am very excited to see what paths and opportunities college has to offer.
