I truly believe swimming has shaped me into the person I am today. Throughout the ten years that I have competed I have learned the true meaning of commitment and dedication. These two attributes are essential to my daily schedule which include balancing school, swim, and a job. I am committed and dedicated to being the best student-athlete that I have the potential of being. I love to learn and push myself on the pool deck and in the classroom. However, I believe that without swimming my passion for improvement would have never been ignited. When I first started to swim competitively, I found that the pool deck was an environment that I was able to thrive in. I started to push myself beyond limits I have never imagined that I would reach both physically and mentally, practicing every single day while balancing a strenuous school schedule was the result.
Education has always been a priority to me. My high school is ranked 5th in Florida and 32nd in the nation for the 2016-2017 school year, so I believe that I have been given a solid base to further my education after I graduate. I would love to study a major pertaining to the health sciences because I want to study occupational therapy. If I were to be able to help someone achieve their goals through my profession that would be a dream come true for me.
