I've been in water since I was two years old and been competing on swim teams since I was 9 years old. The first time I saw a swim competition, I was 8 years old and I made my mom take me inside to watch it. I was so amazed and it was at that point that I told my mother I had to do that! . She was completely taken off guard because I had never been on a team before. Then the coach's daughter saw me and asked me if I had tried out for the team . I made my mother take me that day to the coach and ask to join. The coach saw my excitement and let me try out that next day and I have been in love with swimming ever since. I have tried other sports and done well, but nothing has captured my spirit like swimming.
I have been on teams in North Carolina , Georgia and internationally. We lived in Ghana, West Africa, from 2009 through 2012, where I was on the national team. In Ghana, I was selected to competed in the All Africa Games, a competition with Nigeria, and we also competed in Ausberg, Germany as well. Now, I have been living in the USA for the last three years and soon I will be going to college and I know that I want to continue my swimming career in a college that has great opportunities for swimmers. I love competing and meeting new people. I want to keep improving my technique and learning new ways to improve my times, so I can be the best I can be.
I hope to be an asset to my future university as well as my future swim team!.
