I learned to swim when i was four. Since that moment, i have never felt quite comfortable being out of the water. Since i joined MAAC, under the tutelage of Mike Norment, i have learned to lave a rigorous training schedule. (6 practices a week, plus 2 dry-land). Training is definitely my favorite thing about swimming. Getting in the pool, and pushing myself in order to chase impossible goals, has become an everyday habit for me.
Admittedly, i began training to compete alot later than most of my teammates. I joined MAAC at the end of my freshman year of high school, and under the outstanding coaching that I've had, I have come a long way in how i swim a race.
At first, training with people who had Junior National and Olympic trial cuts was very discouraging, but i chose to use it as motivation adn now everyday i jump in the pool, my goal is to swim fast enough to touch their feet.
