Personal Statement
It has always been my goal to go to college as a student athlete. Both of my parents swam and coached swimming, in addition to working in their own professions. Therefore I literally grew up on the pool deck with my siblings.
Currently I hold a 4.3 GPA. In addition to taking a heavy course load in high school, I also take AP calculus through BYU. I plan to major in biological science or pre-medicine. My goal is to continue my swimming while attending a competitive university. Upon completion of my undergraduate degree I plan to attend medical school.
I am the President of the student body, National Honors Society President, and Captain of the swim team. I am also a member of the FAME program. The FAME program is a National Award winning, selective performing arts program. This program consists of rigorous dance, vocals, acting, and filmmaking. Additionally, I was crowned the 2015 Miss Hawaii's Oustanding Teen; this is a scholarship pageant under the Miss America Organization.
I truly believe that I posses the qualities necessary to be a successful student athlete at a competitive university. My training in the pool and in the classroom has definitely prepared me to be successful in college.
Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement.
Respectfully,
Kealani
