Personal Statement
I have been swimming since I was 7 years old. Ever since I took my first strokes as a competitive swimmer, I instantly knew I wanted to be swimming at a collegiate level. Swimming is more than a sport, it is a passion and a way to express yourself. It has given me the opportunity to test my limits with swimming, school, and any other extra-curricular activities that may occur.
I am more than just a student-athlete, I am currently a senior representative for the Hawaii Local Swimming Committee(LSC). Being a senior representative has taught me significant leaderships skills that I find necessary in every student-athlete. As a senior representative, my job is to address any conflicts within the Hawaii LSC and come up with an effective solution. If any changes occur, I must inform swimmers and any adults who are not aware of the changes. To improve my leaderships skills, I attend the USA Swimming Convention once a year in September. I have attended one convention in 2016 and will attend another one this year, 2017.
