Taylor Doherty '17 Recruiting Profile

    Aloha, my name is Taylor Doherty and I've been swimming ever since I can remember. I joined my club team and started swimming competitively when I was 8 years old. Since then, I have shown constant, steady improvement and I look forward to continuing in that direction. Here on the Big Island of Hawaii, competition is hard to come by but I frequently travel to other islands and occasionally the mainland to swim in meets that have more swimmers competing at higher level.

    Academically, I am a strong and hardworking student. I like to challenge myself by taking difficult classes, while still being able to manage swimming and extracurricular activities. I've been on the headmaster's list every semester and I strive to maintain my high GPA. Currently, I am the president of S.A.D.D Club (Students against destructive decisions), a member of the Red Cross club and also a member of the Speech and Debate Club. Being a big part of my school's community is something I enjoy doing. 

    Ever since I swam in my first meet, I knew I wanted to swim in college, just as my parents had done. From then till now, all the practices and meets I've swam in have been in effort towards my dream and goal of swimming collegiately.
