Personal Statement
When it comes to college and my swimming career, I have many goals. For me, the ultimate goal is to better myself as a teammate, person and swimmer. I want to continue to swim in college because of the commitment to something bigger than myself, the life management skills I will acquire, and the new relationships I will build through the team. What makes me a great candidate for your swim team, is my work ethic, which ironically, I learned through swim. I may not be the fastest or the best on the team, but I will be the hardest worker both athletically and academically. I see one of my main roles as the person who pushes my teammates to be the best they can be. Additionally, I am a solid swimmer in each stroke. I have been told by many that I am extremely coachable. I come from a rural community and have not always had consistent coaching, but have loved and learned from them all! That said, I see this as a good thing because I know I still have a lot to learn and with collegiate coaching, I can make many improvements. Beyond swimming I plan to pursue a degree in the medical field, however I am not certain which area at this point.
