Personal Statement
The way I was brought up has heavily shaped who I am. I was taught from a young age that the golden rule is to never quit. I was raised to be competitive, and to have a desire to do my absolute best at all times. I know how it feels to drop time, and I know how it feels to win, as a team or as an individual. To me, that is one of the best feelings in the world. To contrast my competitiveness I am a very social person! One of my favorite things to do is make new friends and talk to interesting people. My friends describe me as charismatic and easy to talk to. Outside of the pool, I have a go with the flow personality, lively humor and I cherish my relationship with my friends and family.
In school, I maintain a 3.9 weighted GPA. I enjoy learning, going to school, and I love to read in my free time. I really enjoy art, and I draw and paint whenever I can find the time. I also do at least 30 hours of community service every school year. This includes corporal works of mercy and helping out at places like the local recycling center. Right now I am involved in a program called BeSombody that is designed to help middle school girls grow in their self-confidence and relationship with Christ.
All of these attributes are reasons I believe I would be a good student-athlete at any university in the country.
