Personal Statement

Hello Coaches:

My name is Taylor Frances Bush. I am a rising junior at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, LA.  I have been a member of my high school Varsity Swim Team for the past five years .  Both our  Girls and Boy's Teams have won back to back State Championships for the past three years, of which I have made considerable contributions to. I am also a four year member of the Nationals Training Group at Crescent City Swim Club.  I have aspirations to swim at the collegiate level and would love to become a member of a dynamic women's swimming program.

I am passionate about academics and I am a scholar.  For the past two years I have been named the recipient of the Newman Upper School Faculty Scholarship Award, receiving the Jefferson Cup.  This award is given to those students who were voted by upper school faculty as demonstrating a love and passion for knowledge. It is only given to one male and female student in ninth and tenth grade. I also love the acquisition of language.  I am enrolled in Honors and Advanced Placement Spanish and Latin. In my free time, I love to learn other languages such as Russian and French online . I also love the arts and I am an avid photographer  and writer  with several printed works on exhibit at local  museums and published works in our upper school magazine, The Pioneer. My school is college prep and fosters a life-long love and passion for the arts. I am a hard working student-athlete with an impeccable work ethic in the classroom and in the pool. I love working with younger kids teaching water safety and swim lessons. I am an American Red Cross Certified Life Guard .

Sincerely,

Taylor
