Personal Statement
One of my goals in college is to really express myself as an individual. I am someone who will go above and beyond for a person I met 20 minutes prior. I am a very supportive friend, daughter and sister, I am one of those people who will stand at the end of the lane for someone, even if it is not a strong swimmer or a favored athlete. Everyone needs someone in their corner, encouraging them to do their best. As far as I am concerned, everyone is a equal, no matter your times in the pool. I am a dedicated athlete and I have been part of three varsity sports and grow closer with my teammates every day. By the end of each season we are a big family and act like sisters, I have a bond with my each of my coaches and I feel like I can fully trust him or her. I am different because I am focused, determined, flexible and compatible. When I set my mind to something, no matter what it is, I will work day and night 24/7 to reach and eventually demolish this goal. My academics are a main focus, I get to school at 7 am, right when the doors open, to talk to teachers and stay abreast on my studies. I sit front and center in all of my classes to ensure my focus on my studies and so I can see the board and ask questions (lots of them) when needed. I have always looked for a way to step up my game, and swimming is something I have been doing and loving since I was 5 years old. Swimming has been more than a sport for me, it's a way of life, something I have dedicated countless fun and exciting hours to. That is why I would love to swim in college, be part of a team, to continue doing something I love doing and want to do forever.
