Personal Statement
Swimming has been a major part of my life since I began competitively swimming at 8 years old. It has always been a driving force that's molded me into a more disciplined and hard working person. It has taught me impeccable time management and leadership skills that I'm able to use daily. My head coach has selected me as the female team captain for the second year in a row now, exemplifying my ability to help others and lead them in the right direction. I am an extremely self motivated person who has the determination to push myself to my limits. As an athlete I find myself very coachable in that I take all advice to heart and am always trying to improve. As a student, I use these valuable lessons I've learned through swimming to maintain excellent grades through a rigorous class-load in the International Baccalaureate Program. As a college swimmer, I aspire to always be improving and to be able to represent my college team with pride in college conference meets.
