Personal Statement
My parents and the environment I had grew up in has influenced who I am today and further develops it everyday. Whether it was the education or life learning skills that both my school and parents had taught me, it helped me adapt and learn how to work with others and my surroundings. I became involved in swimming when I was 5 but fully interested in it when I was 14 due to the High School Swim team and the importance of each member that they expressed to one other. I realized that I could get somewhere with swimming in my future, and that motivated me to push myself even harder and to never give up.I have learned through swimming that it is very ironic to how my school life is. If I were to fail a test, quiz or not make a time in an event, I would remind myself that through more studying or practice I can and will succeed. Through my own determination, I overcame what I could not do before and when I found out I had overcome it, it had boosted my self-confidence and positive thinking. In high school I want to reach my goal of having all A's and B's for my report cards and bringing my GPA further up than it already is. I will have the same goals for college and want to make my mark on my swim team.
In my past I had overcame many obstacles in swimming and in life that I soon learned to use to my advantage than as a disadvantage. The characteristics I possess are being able to work well with others, manage to quickly change to better suit my surroundings, reliable, kind-hearted, and determined. Whereas I only have one skill and that is being able to make others feel confident when they feel that they lack it.
