Personal Statement
Although I have only been swimming for one year, I have had a passion for swimming from a very young age. This past season, swimming everyday and going to practice consistently has taught me to be a more responsible and structured person, and has made me value hard work. Being on a prestigious swim team has showed me that success, in and out of the pool, is something one must work hard for to achieve. Using this method to achieve the results I want during swim meets is the gratification that has grounded my investment in the sport. Application of the sport has leached throughout my life by way of school work and studies. Working hard during practice, and then dropping time in a swim meet, has showed me that studying for tests results in good scores. I have realized that I want to swim in college no matter where I end up going to school because I enjoy the sport, but also because it makes me a more responsible, hardworking, and over all happy person. Swimming is not only a sport I feel like I can excel in, but is a sport I am genuinely interested and invested in.
