Personal Statement

  • Since I began swimming competitively, it's been a dream of mine to swim at the college level.
  • Swimming is a very important aspect of my life as it's a major stress relief from my academics. I began swimming in fifth grade because I loved the water and wanted to try something new. Since then, swimming has helped to shape me into the person I am today. Without it, I don't think I would be nearly as successful in my school work and other activities.
  • Swimming helps to keep me focused in my school work because I know I have to complete assignments timely in order to get enough sleep and be able to attend practices and put all of my effort into them.
  • The team aspect of swimming is also very important to me, it's helped me to make many great relationships over the years and has allowed me to get out of my comfort zone to make new friends.
  • I've always been a very driven and determined person, and I set high standards for myself at school. I want to maintain a high grade point average, graduate in the top of my class, and be a role model for my peers. With that said, I've also learned that grades don't always indicate who's the smartest and hardest worker, and I've learned to find a balance between school and other aspects of my life like sports.
  • In college, I plan to continue my education goals and maintain a high grade point average. I would like to continue swimming through college as well because I feel as though I would be a great addition to my new team athletically and personally and it will give me the opportunity to push my self to achieve success not only for myself but for my team as well.

Thank you

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
