Olivia Frederickson '16 Recruiting Profile

As a student athlete, I have learned and I am still learning many things about what it means to be on a varsity team, how it feels to achieve personal goals, and how important it is to give as much time and energy as I can into what is important to me. I want to not only improve my times but help my team improve themselves as well. Swimming has given me so many life long friendships and opportunities, and has taught me how to dedicate myself to a team and my school work at the same time. I like to be able to envision my future and plan the steps I need to achieve to get there. 

The relationship I have acquired within this sport has shown me that fast times aren't the only thing that make a good team, but that leadership of teammates and the self-effacing respect for one another are most essential. There has to be good chemistry and that is something I like to create with all my teammates and coaches. Having good team spirit not only impacts the overall aura of a team's attitude, but can improve personal work ethics. Positivity is key and I strive to make this an important goal for myself and my team.
