Personal Statement

I just recently achieved Winter Junior National cuts in my 100 Back and 200 Back. I would like to reach the National level and work towards a Olympic Trial cut. I would be a good candidate for your team because I am a hard worker and I dedicate myself towards both swimming and academics. I believe what makes me different from other candidates is my determination to achieve my goals. I am always pushing myself in the classroom and take the most rigorous courses, and I work extremely hard in the pool every day, setting higher goals

I also have a different background from most people. I am proud to say that I am a 13 year Cancer Survivor. Although I do not remember a lot during my sickness because I was so young (3 years), I believe that it definitely shaped me in to the person I am today. I believe it is why I push myself to meet the high goals that I have set for myself.
