My goal for college is to gain experience and knowledge that will assist me in pursuing a career. However that is not the only thing I wish to take away from my college experience. I want to learn simple life lessons such as how to live away from my family and how to branch myself out to new friends and explore new activities as well. What separates me from other possible prospects is that I come from a background where being only concerned about myself was never an option. I have one older sister, a younger sister, and a younger brother. Because I am right in the middle I've learned to deal with lots of different personalities. Also, my brother was born with down syndrome which has opened my eyes to a whole new world of acceptance and has taught me to be open minded towards all different situations that others face. As for academics, all of my life I have accepted nothing from myself besides the best grades and my hardest work. The same thing goes for my swimming. Ever since I started I knew that I loved it and trying my best was the only option and pursuing swimming throughout my college career would not be any different.
