Personal Statement
I became interested in swimming while watching my older brother and sister swim in college. I started swimming competitively when I was about 7 years old and quickly found I loved this sport. Swimming became a normal part of my life and my teammates became my best friends. At first swimming was mostly just for fun, but I soon realized I had potential and I pushed myself to get better. I always compare myself with the best swimmers. I try to learn from them and use them as motivation.
I swam for Kingfish Aquatics Club from 2013 - 2018 and won my first state championship in the 500 Freestyle by the time I was 12 years old. I have competed at Sectional, Winter Jr. National and NCSA level meets. Competing with the best has only encouraged me to work harder. I recently joined Club Wolverine Swimming in 2018 and I am a member of their national team. I try to work as hard as I can, both in school and at practice, with the hope of one day attending and competing for a great college/university.
My family is a huge part of my life and have always supported me throughout my swimming career. My parents are my biggest fans and attend all my meets. They help keep me focused on what is important in life. They taught me hard work, dedication, having fun and enjoying my sport, will lead to success.
