Personal Statement
My name is Sydney Dahl, sophomore, Burnsville High School, Burnsville, MN. My goal since I joined Black Dog Swim Club seven years ago was to be able to improve my swim strokes and technique so that I would be able to swim at the collegiate level. I know that swimming in college is an opportunity presented to those with a strong work ethic and determination to succeed. This would be an opportunity of a lifetime that would help me prepare for life after college.
I am a very competitive swimmer who likes to compete and be challenged by the best swimmers at the highest level of competition. I work hard on my swim techniques and am very coachable as I work to improve both individually and as a teammate. I bring a strong work ethic to the pool and classroom that has allowed me to be successful in both settings.
I study hard and have maintained a 3.72GPA through my first semester of my sophomore year. Success in the classroom has provided the work ethic needed to succeed in the pool.
I want to attend college where I can push myself both in the classroom and pool. I am open to all opportunities as I look to succeed in both. I hope to fulfill my goals from seven years ago as I hope a college considers me when selecting their 2018 recruits.
