Maeve McArdle '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Maeve McArdle and I am currently a junior at  Westlake High School in Thornwood, NY.  I would like to swim competitively in college and am looking for a school where I can get a great education both in and out of the pool.  I am very friendly and outgoing and enjoy the camaraderie that a swim team offers.  I am a great friend and teammate and can't wait to meet new people.

I enjoy the challenges of school and find doing well very rewarding.  I am a straight A Honors student and am taking 3 Advanced Placement courses and one honors course this year.  I love the sciences and math and am hoping to have a career in the medical field, more specifically nursing.  I want to find a college that will challenge me academically and help me to reach my career goals.  

I have been swimming for the Condors Swim club for the past seven years.  I have gained great skills under my coach, Christina Krautz, and am a strong distance swimmer.   My best event is the 400 IM which I find exciting to swim because it is so challenging but so rewarding at the same time.  I also swim for my high school team which is actually a combined team of four small high schools.  I have been named Most Valuable Swimmer the last three years and made States in the 200 IM last season and qualified for states this year in the 200 IM, 100 fly, and two relays.
