Personal Statement
This swim season I am working towards being more positive and both mentally and physically stronger. My coaches have incorporated dryland training, consisting of running, spin classes, body weight training (squats, push-ups, sit ups, ect.), and yoga. I have participated in minimal weight training in the past but stopped lifting last summer.
I will be training with my club team until September and I am ecstatic to take on this season and to train harder and faster than ever before. Junior Nationals is my ultimate goal.
At the age of 9 I fell in love with the sport of swimming and it has forever changed who I am and how I take on the challenges thrown at me. I especially love how even though swimming is deemed an individual sport, the team aspect is prominent and incredibly important. I have learned team work, patience, positivity, and social skills. All of which I will use for the rest of my life. I love putting in work and I am learning the reality of not being able to see results at every meet and I have come to terms with that situation. I am willing to work hard to achieve my goals and will put countless hours into my training to get to where I strive to be.
