Personal Statement
I have been swimming competitively for 5 years now, after seeing Missy Franklin in the 2012 London Olympics that's when I knew, swimming was what I'm meant to do. Since a young age I have had so much support in the pool; my mother before me having been a competitive swimmer as well. Through swimming I have gained a competitive spirit, team loyalty, respect for my coaches and fellow teammates, and a strong sense of team pride, that has not only helped carry me through multiple coaching changes within my club team but also onto my high-school team. With swimming, my end goal is to become an Olympic swimmer, and I know I'll need further collegiate training to get there. I want to be the best I can possibly be, not only for myself and my goals, but also for the team(s) I represent.
