Personal Statement
I have a love for swimming, both as a competitor and a spectator. I have always strived to perfect my technique and have taken lessons from the best whenever possible. I cannot imagine not swimming when I graduate from high school, so I would like to find a school that can use my talents and training. I enjoy teaching the young swimmers on the team and those that do not know how to swim yet. By doing this, I reinforce what I do everyday in my own training. Our team does not have a very large facility and we can only train 1 1/2 hours in out small out door pool in the winter. We do only a small amount of dry land and I do a few weights on my own. I am looking forward to training longer in college so that I can see my real potential.
I would prefer to stay in the Southeast, but am open to other areas. The size of the school is not as important as the feeling of 'being home' when I walk onto campus. My parents have saved towards my college education, but I am hoping to receive some scholarship money, either academic, athletic or both.
I believe that I can be a competitive swimmer in NCAA Div II and on some Div I teams. I would also be open to swimming Junior college or NAIA.
Besides swimming, I love photography, horses, scuba diving and getting together with friends. I hope to use my keen eye for photography in my career one day.
If you think I am the right fit for your team, I would love to come and visit.
