Personal Statement
I have been swimming competitively since I was seven years old, but I started taking lessons when I was three years old. An early goal of mine has been to swim at the collegiate level. Swimming in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could enhance my life skills beyond measure.
I am a very competitive swimmer with both the body and mind to succeed at the collegiate level. I am a team leader who leads by exhibiting a positive example while encouraging my teammates. I strive to be very coachable and to be one of the hardest working swimmers in the pool, thus positioning myself to be one of the hardest working recruits you'll find.
In the classroom, I am studious and manage my time well to maintain a GPA of 4.0+. I enjoy my Chinese language class and also different science courses such as Biology and Chemistry. I am part of the “Girls Understanding Their Strength Club” and “Operation Smile Club”. I also volunteer my time in my church and surrounding community.
I want to attend a college that challenges me both in the classroom and in the pool. I am open to exploring all opportunities in order to find the college that is the best fit for me, academically and athletically. I look forward to becoming a role model for my teammates and my two younger sisters, and also to improve my abilities to achieve my lifelong goals.
