Personal Statement
Hello, I am Hannah. I have been swimming competitively for 7 years. I have achieved A times in both SCY and LCM. Along with my drive and commitment I will continue to better my times. My goal is to swim in sectionals by 2017. At this year’s SCY state meet I finished in the top 8 in 9 out of 11 races, swimming all personal records. I qualified and competed in the 2016 Sun Kissed Invitational and achieved three more personal records.
A little about me, most know me as HAM, those are my initials, and it came about from my Mom and Dad cheering for me during my early sporting activities, and it really fits me. I am a very driven person who digs deep to accomplish my goals. I participate regularly in my church and youth groups because my faith is very important to me. One of the best moments of swimming has been being part of the Special Olympics and helping coach a swimmer to a national bid this last year. My HOSA club has elected me to treasurer, I sang soprano in my school’s choir and I have lettered in 2014 and 2015 in HOSA and choir. This year in school I was also honored to being elected and chosen to be on our national honor society club. I represent the student body by being on our student council. I enjoy volunteering at the local food bank and witnessing the impact a warm meal has on our less fortunate members of society. I have kept a 3.99 GPA while taking AP and Honors classes, participating in school and club volleyball, school tennis and making time for my family.
My dream is to compete at different meets around the US and possibly around the world. I will achieve by dream by having goals that will push my limits and make me the best swimmer that I can become. I love to drive my teammates, and myself to be the best we can be. My thoughts often think about the bond of being part of a collage team and competing at a higher level. Throughout the years I have been in many sports, coaches have always complemented me on how coachable I am. I feel that my faith, my strong drive to excel academically, my coachability, and my hard work during practices, will be a valued addition to any swim team.
