My goal is to be the best person that I can be, both in academics and athletics. For years that sport was swimming, but always had an interest in rowing. Last spring I decided it was time to give it a try and fell in love with being on the water instead of always in it! I love being a part of a team rowing towards a common goal and finding new ways to physically challenge myself. While I am rowing I will continue competing with my high school varsity swim team with practices in the morning and then off to rowing practice in the afternoon.
My commitment to be the best also includes hard work in the classroom and giving back to my community. I push myself to take AP classes, and am a member of the National Honor Society and honor roll. I am also the founder of the Falcon Ambassadors Club at my school. My family and I moved to Texas after my freshman year in the Chicago area. I discovered my new school didn't really have a way for transfer students to connect with one another and be more comfortable with their new surroundings. It gave me the opportunity to start the club and we now have more than 50 members helping fellow students. I am also member of FORCE, Falcons Out Rendering Community Enhancement, where I will complete 120 hours of community service upon graduation. Mentoring children is also important to me and I have been selected to be a part of the PALs which stands for Peer Assistance and Leadership. We spend time in elementary schools connecting with kids who sometimes just need a buddy and it's very rewarding!

Head of Hooch
11/3/18 to 11/4/18
I raced at the Head of the Hooch this past weekend and I did pretty well. I raced in an 8+, a 4+, and a 4x all of which I was happy with. In my 8+ we got 27th out of 76 crews with a 5k time of 16:18.627. I actually stroked my 4+ which is not a seat I usually sit in but regardless we placed 61st out of 91 crews with a 5k time of 19:00.281. For my quad we were actually thrown for a loop because that morning the regatta officials changed the race course from a 5k to a 2k because of very high winds on the starting side, so without us even knowing we were done with head races season after Saturday! In the quad we placed 22nd out of 60 crews.
