Personal Statement
My name is Regina Zipperer. I am 17 years old. I am 5'6" and weigh 132 pounds. I am in the 12th grade. I have been swimming for my competitive year-round team, the Germantown(TN) Swim Team since I was 8 years old. I have held age group team records for the 800, 1000 and mile. I have qualified for Short and Long Course Southeastern Championships, Age Group Sectionals and named to the Southeastern All Star Team. I also swim for my high school, St. Benedict at Auburndale. As a Freshman and Sophomore, I qualified for six events for the Tennessee High School State Championships. I made finals in the 500 free and was an alternate for the 200 free finals.I broke team records for the 200 and 500 free and was named Team MVP all 3 years. I was named to the Memphis All Metro Team in 2014 and 2015.
I held a 4.0 throughout middle school and had a 3.9 from my Freshman and Sophomore year. I just finished junior year with a 4.0. My grades are very important to me. I am interested in Health Sciences such as Exercise Science, Athletic Training, and Physical Therapy.
My goals for this year are to continue to make good grades, make finals at the State again, qualify for Senior Sectionals and eventually, Jr. Nationals.
My coaches have always said that I have a very strong work ethic. I work very hard while at practice-no "sitting on the wall". I don't miss practices. Morning practices don't bother me, I wake up early anyway. This is what I will bring to a collegiate team-great student, great teammate, and a winning addition to the team.
