Lia Barskey '15 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I was 5 years old, I've been in the water. I started out swimming on my city summer league team and haven't stopped swimming since. When I was in 6th grade i joined USA swimming and took my swimming to the next level. Throughout my junior high years i had developed a love for this sport and I knew i wanted to swim in college. Some of my current goals are to get sectional cuts before I graduate in  2015 in the 200 IM, 100 fly and 200 free. I am closely nearing my current goals. My passion for swimming has continually motivated me to test my limits and to push myself further than ever. I am a very hard worker in and out of the pool. If I have my mind set on something, I tend to persevere until I have accomplished it. I love to travel and meet new people! I also do my best to encourage my teammates. When I go to college I would like to major in Kinesiology and use that to hopefully become a successful swim coach. I would like to coach swimming to help people reach their potential and give them a love and passion for this sport too.
