Statement:
I began swim lesson 2010 at the Clearfield Aquatic center under my mom's direction. I spend an ample amount of time in and near water on boats; waver runners and my mom wanted me to know water safety, life saving techniques and to be experienced in the water.
I was advised by my swimming instructor to try out and join the CCAT (Clearfield City Aquatic Team) since I was a natural in the water. In 2012 competitive dance ceased and competitive swim became my passion.
I have accomplished many achievements in the 5 years I have joined the Aquatic team. I have competed at the local level during various meets with other aquatic teams earning many placement ribbons and medals. I have competed as an individual at the Utah Summer Games where I held a Utah Summer Games record 2015-2016 for a year in the 50 back stroke for 13-14 girls age group and have earned many Summer Games medals. I have competed at the Utah State level making the time cuts to swim in qualifying preliminary and finals rounds both short and long course season. But my most recent accomplishment was competing at a higher national level at the Western Zones Long Course competition, the best in the West in Fresno, California in August of 2016 and now 2017.
With a rigorous school schedule, swim practice for 2 team up to 4 hours daily close to 4000-7000 yards 5 days a week, family time and friends, I would say swimming has taught me balance, patience, focus, determination, sacrifice and how to be an inspiration to myself and those who I associate.
The most fun experience was having my picture posted on Michael Phelps' social media sites (Facebook and Instagram) per their public relations request to utilize, share and promote the MP Michael Phelps Swim Line. Reading the Facebook and Instagram comments from many people not just from around the Country but Worldwide is amazing. Just knowing strangers who support me is an amazing feeling and motivates me to never give up, never back down and work relentlessly to an overall "Dream Goal" as Coach Bob Bowman calls them.
