Kelsey Childress '17 Recruiting Profile

Fast swims, friends, and fun. These important aspects of swimming have maintained my passion for this sport throughout the years. I am 16 years old,  a junior at Brookville High School, and have been swimming for 11 years. I fell in love with swimming at the age of 5, and have been swimming for the Lynchburg YMCA team ever since. I enjoy the family atmosphere of the swim team and love the support and encouragement my team members and coach have to offer each other. I thrive on the hard work, dedication, and continuous effort it takes to sustain high-level performances. I am a hard-worker, determined to give it 100% at all times, while being enthusiastic and encouraging. I also have avid time management skills shown through my 4.30 GPA even though I have a rigorous swimming schedule. I have been training hard and feel confident of my physical condition and performance level. I was able to compete very well in the YSSR Championship in March and swam best times in all but one event. I love the excitement and challenge of competing and look forward to continuing to improve during my collegiate experience. I feel that I would be a great asset to many college swimming programs and could increase the positive atmosphere of the team. I look forward to getting in contact with you.
