I'm 16 years old and I started swimming when I was 3. Once I learned how to swim, I progressed through the strokes relatively fast. My swimming instructor recommended that I join the local USA Swimming team. When I was 7 years old I joined H2Okie Aquatics and that summer I joined the summer league swim team. I loved the sport and have been swimming competitively year-round ever since. I was an Age Group qualifier and made the USA Swimming Age Group Short Course Zone Team for Virginia Swimming when I was 12. Since aging up to a Senior, I've qualified for the State Championships every year. I also have been on multiple relays at the USA Swimming Eastern Sectional Meet. I've also swam on my high school tea . In 2015 as a sophomore, I placed 9th in the 200 freestyle and 8th in the 100 breastroke at the state meet, and was named to the All Timesland Team (regional). This year, I placed 8th in the 50 free and 9th in the 200 free at the state high school championship meet. This year, my goal is to qualify in multiple events at the USA Swimming Eastern Sectional Meet and the NCSA Junior National Meet. I enjoy the sport of swimming because I'm a goal oriented person and strive to better myself with each practice and meet. I would like to continue swimming competitively in college and I am looking for a school that matches my academic and athletic interests. Academically, I am a straight A, honor roll student and taking multiple college level courses. I am interested in pursuing a science major in preparation for an advanced biomedical degree.
