Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Cienna Clark and I began my athletic journey when I was six years old. I started off playing soccer, then my dad put me in track and tennis. Ever since I was a child, I aspired to be a standout athlete. I have always been dedicated to my athletics, whether on a team or by myself. I am a team player, I have been team captain for my high school tennis team every year, even when I could not physically support my team, I made up for it by helping train, warm-up and cheer my team on from the sidelines. I went to every single practice and match to continuously support my teammates. I am a very dedicated, determined, and diligent person, on and off the court. Whether it be an assignment in one of my AP classes or a practice, I make sure give it my all.
I am sure you are wondering why there are a few gaps in my stats, and I am here to tell you: I suffered an ACL knee injury which forced be to sit-out my sophomore and junior years. Fortunately with a lot of hard work, determination and grind, I am back and ready to play. I have even more grit and persistence than I did two years ago.
Throughout my recovery period, I found an interest, Sports Medicine. Being around those doctors and PT's really inspired me to be want to get somebody else back on their feet. It is important to me that I get a great education and be part of a great tennis program as well. Playing at the collegiate level is very competitive and you have to commit and I have done that and will continue to.
