I look forward to being part of a collegiate team where I can grow as a player as well as a person. I am searching for a team where I am able to compete at a high level, while also having fun and building life-long friendships with my teammates. I am a solid student and I challenge myself with Honors and AP courses. Academics does not come super easy to me, but I am diligent, I study hard, and I have managed to maintain a 3.7 unweighted GPA.
I am an excellent candidate for any college team because I am a team player and I've been told many times that I am extremely coachable. I think believing in myself is very important, but also believing in and trusting my coach is just as important. In both high school and college, tennis is no longer an individual sport; it is a team sport. I have been utilized on several occasions to play a higher singles position to allow higher-ranked teammates play a doubles position in order to secure a win for the team. I understood that it was what the coach felt was best for the team and embraced these times as opportunities to challenge myself against a better player and gain valuable experience.
The greatest thing I've learned from my most recent coach is that, win or lose, I play this wonderful sport of tennis with gratitude. I am blessed to have the physical, mental, and emotional capabilities to be out on the tennis court. If given an opportunity to play on a collegiate tennis team, I will always play with gratitude.
