Personal Statement
I have enjoyed playing tennis since I was 5 years old. The game has been a big part of my life and has helped shape my character; I have developed greater integrity, competitiveness and work ethic from tennis. I have been been recognized in all of these areas with my coach's "Integrity Award", being named league MVP in doubles', and also a Scholar Athlete.
Many years of lessons have given me a strong foundation of skills, but I know that I have a lot more to learn. My coaches have said that I am easy to work with and take their advice to improve.
My doubles game have improved greatly through my high school seasons and I desire to play doubles and singles in college.
My academics are strong; I currently have a weighted GPA of 3.94 and an unweighted GPA of 3.67. I know that I can balance academics and tennis well. I am also looking to grow in the areas of my Christian faith and build close relationships off and on the court.
I hope that you will consider me for your team. I look forward to discussions with you about whether I am a match.
Sincerely,
Kendall Leander
