Despite the fact that others have what I don't, but that doesn't matter just because people who have more don't have the advantage because that doesn't mean they get the most out of life. Hi to whomever desires to read this I'm Salma Santillan. Don't come from a small town or what not but I do come from a place called home. My home is tennis, I have never felt so enthusiastic about something. What can I say I love the sport the energy the drive the intensity. But most all I want to say I wont disappoint you I will always put 110% into whatever I'm doing. What I desire the most is improvement, my goals as a tennis player is to improve. The wins are the best but the losses are the lesson, each and every thing in life is a lesson and that's what I think when I'm on the court this is all a lesson to be valued. Does that mean I don't want to win? Absolutely not I'm driven to do my highest potential to each and every match put myself into regardless whom ever my opponent is. Academically I want to succeed in pursuing a career in forensics science, phycology, and a double minor in business and Spanish. I want to reach my highest potential mentally as well as I would physically on the court. Last of all I want representation from the community I come from, you don't often see Hispanic/Mexican young women pursuing to play tennis and I think that's because lack of representation. Especially for those who are first generation like myself. I want to be one of hopefully not the only one to succeed, but to show that this community has the doors open for them to play tennis and succeed playing the sport. One more thing is that physically being fit is crucial but as well mental health which is what tennis is a mental sport, game, etc. there is no strategy without thinking which I believe I have. Determination, Dynamic, Energy, and Intuitive.
