Caraline Patterson '16 Recruiting Profile

I didn't begin playing tennis seriously until I was in middle school. I was a soccer goalie growing up. Unlike most of the girls on the team, I would move in the way of an oncoming ball, so naturally, the coaches liked me to play goalie, although I also liked playing on the field and scoring on other goalies. I am a team player at heart and love the dynamics of playing team sports. I have loved my years of high school tennis because of the girls and the camaraderie. I am really looking forward to being a part of a women's college tennis team. It has been my dream ever since I began to play tennis. 

I spent sophomore and junior year in FL practicing and training with girls from all over the world. Both of my coaches were from Central America and grew up traveling the world playing ITFs. I loved getting to know my coaches and other players from so many different backgrounds and was able to play in a couple of ITF tournaments over the summer. I am looking to continue that experience in college tennis.

My coaches will tell you that I am highly disciplined, on time, a willing and hard worker and able to keep my sense of humor. I enjoy competition, and even more than individual, team competition. I will be a dedicated, determined, hard working member of my college team. I am looking for an experience that will encourage me to continue to develop as a player and enable me to become a part of a dynamic team.
