After playing ice skating, ballet, and swimming only one stuck close to my heart: tennis. From the moment I picked up my first tennis racquet at age 7, I knew this was the sport I’d dedicate a big part of my life to. Once I turned 12, I started to play very competitively in USTA Tournaments, mostly singles. Being given the honor to represent Stevenson High School Tennis Team, is one of the most prestigious feelings I have ever felt. I played both doubles and singles for the team on junior varsity as well as varsity since freshman year. Currently my sectional USTA ranking is 84 and I have won many consolation brackets and many rounds in the main draw as well. I recently played in the Chicago District Level 4 Qualifier and Midwest section Tournaments for Girls’ 16s.
I can only imagine how honored and humbled I would feel to represent a college one day by playing for their Tennis Team. My dream is to play tennis for a university with a high standard of academics that helps me reveal my athletic and scholarly ambitions to the world, and I will travel anywhere across the country in order to fulfill this dream.
Not only am I very ambitious in terms of playing tennis in a university, but I also have the determined drive to pursue a science and medicine education. It is my dream to be able to participate in the ground-breaking discoveries being made across the world to aid the progression of science. I not only have the motivation for such an education, but I also have a vision that I am determined to make reality for the benefit of mankind.
