Personal Statement
My name is Alivia Livesay and I am 17 years old from Tryon, North Carolina. I will be in the graduating Class of 2015 at Polk County High School. I have played tennis since I was 8 years old and have loved it ever since then. When I became a freshman is when I knew this was my passion. I have played all four years at my high school as number one seed for singles as well as doubles. I have also led the team as captain the past two years, where I have earned three double Western Conference Titles and this year earning the title for singles, qualifying me for Regionals and earned a berth to State. I work hard by keeping my grades above average, as well being a productive member in my community.
Living in an area that is primary known as horse country, I grew up competing as an equestrian Three-Day Eventer since the age of 7 as well as keeping up with tennis and academics. Living in the beautiful foothills there is much more I love to do such as hiking, tubing, skiing/snowboarding and much more. In the last couple of years I have focused strictly on tennis year-round. Being employed at a fitness gym several days a week helps me fit in my conditioning and weight training. My free time is spent volunteering in my community, and I am involved in my church functions; its important to me to give back. I'm a hard worker and motivated. I have learned to be disciplined both academically and athletically.
I look forward to the opportunity to play on a collegiate tennis team, and to pursue an education in marketing. Know that I am a team player and I want to thank you for checking my profile.
