I am Kelsi Williams, 17 years old, 5'5, 115 pounds. I started playing tennis seriously at age 8, through competing through various local tournaments within the Oklahoma City area. I surprised even myself and won several of these tournaments. I have played tennis, Mconsistently, through our Junior level program at Oak Tree in Edmond, along with taking private lessons with two pros at the club. I also played competitive softball through my sophomore year in high school, but with my State level of success with tennis, I have completely dropped softball and now concentrate only on my tennis. I have played in several future and endorser's tournaments within the USTA Missouri Valley division, I will confess I could have done better in some of these tournaments.
My success at State 5A tennis includes placing 7th as a Freshman, 4th as a Sophomore, and 5th as a Junior. 5A is a very competitive field at state level tennis, it includes many of the private schools within Oklahoma. My goal's are to play tennis at a college I really want to attend while obtaining a degree in Physical Therapy or medicine. Another big goal of mine, is to be able to play tennis with a competent attitude, I have learned tennis is just as much about mental ability as physical ability. This year I have really worked hard to overcome any mental handicaps I may have had in competition and am now playing confidently. I have maintain a GPA of 4.2 in high school, and have been involved in all sorts of extracurricular activities including NHS and student council. I am looking forward to my future and playing a sport I love.
