Brittney Martin '18 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Brittney Martin, and I am currently enrolled in Westside Christian High School. I am a girl who not only loves to have fun while playing, but also takes the game of tennis seriously. I normally play doubles, but singles is also right up my alley (get it? alley). Complimenting and encouraging my teammate is something I do quite often, and by quite often I mean after every point regardless of the outcome. I tend to do this off the court as well. Whenever I play, I give 200%. I will even run for balls that are near impossible to get on the opposite side of the court! Academically, I put the same amount of effort into school. I have a cumulative 4.0 and have taken 7/7 classes every year. As for relationships, my teachers and I have equal respect for one another, and some I would even consider close friends of mine. On the court, I am known for strategizing, taking and applying criticism, and SMACKING the ball. My friends and I love to joke about me playing at the net because I look for any chance I get to attack the ball, but of course I do not do so unless I feel completely confident. I absolutely love talking, so communicating with my partner during the match is a breeze for me. You won't see me play a point without me calling "your ball" or "mine," unless it is a surprise poach.
