I have been playing tennis for ten years. I have been training to play competitive tennis for seven of the ten years. I have learned many important life lessons through my vigorous training and competing. The most important thing I have learned is that through hard work and focusing on my goals, whether it be in sports, school or social and family obligations, is that I can achieve more, and personally benefit from my successes. It makes me feel good about myself when I accomplish something that I was originally not so positive that I could. Tournament tennis can be a very individual sport. I have found that playing on the Park City High School team has improved my game and has given me the opportunity to be a team player. I have noticed that when my team members and I are training and playing matches and cheering for each other; all team members play to a much higher level. I enjoy pushing myself for personal achievement but I also enjoy and appreciate the team atmosphere.. I am looking forward to playing on a collegiate team but first I know I must work hard on my tennis to improve my national rankings and work hard on my grades so that an exceptional college will want me on their team.
