It is my goal to play college tennis. I have been playing this wonderful game since I was 7 years old and it has become a very important part of my life. I have worked very hard to become one of the top-ranked high school players in the state and I am currently one of only two Vermonters ranked regionally by the USTA. I have played in my USTA sectional tournament every year since 2010 and I have a highly successful and winning record against regional competitors from other states. I have been playing in the #1 singles position since my freshman year in high school and finished third in the individual state high school tournament as a sophomore. I have also played a great deal of doubles over the past two years, winning a number of different tournaments. Finally, I was just named the captain of my high school tennis team as a junior.
I work very hard at improving my game and I am able to balance my training, while also maintaining my grades and a commitment to my family. I am consistently on the honor roll and have taken numerous AP and honors level courses. I love science and I hope to pursue a career in this field one day. I am looking for a school that considers my status as a student as important as my status as an athlete. Any school that grants me the opportunity to play tennis at the next level will receive a talented, hard-working, intelligent individual who knows what it takes to be a great teammate.
