It is my philosophy that with time and hard work you can accomplish anything. I've learned that reaching a goal generally takes laborious work for the littlest amount of improvement that over time fuels a greater outcome, and is an essential component of what can be a long journey. Two days before my resent track season, I seriously hurt my ankle (3rd degree high and low ankle surrounding my ankle, and a complete tear in the muscle). At first I was devastated that i could not sprint. But the day I hurt my ankle i promised myself i would still compete in whatever I could do one footed and suddenly I found myself at shot put and discus. I never thought (being a sprinter) I would throw, but I learned to love the sport. Although I love sprinting, I also love throwing and I am going to work as hard as possible to get better so I may compete in college. I learned that it is entirely up to yourself to decide if you are going to continue working hard and achieve your goal, or if you are going to get discouraged and give up. I for one, don't want to give up. And I know I can recover.
