Anne (Annabelle) Werner '18 Recruiting Profile

    I am Cross Country/ Track athlete who currently runs a 17:18 3 mile and a 5:02 mile.  I have been a varsity athlete for four years in three sports: cross country, indoor and outdoor track. I have attended Cumberland Valley High School where I was 6th in the PA Indoor State Championship DMR Relay  and sixth in the Footlocker Northeast Regional Sophomore Race. Yet one of the best aspects of my season at Cumberland Valley was being so close with my team; the girls continuously inspired and motivated me through one of my toughest seasons. I now attend Vista Murrieta High School where my team has earned 3rd at the CA State Championship and are ranked 20th in the nation. I have also developed a close bond with these fellow athletes and enjoy the teamwork and tight-knit mindset we all share. I hope to attend a university that celebrates the team aspect of running and involves a close group of athletes as well as friends. Individually, I have competed in AAU Junior Olympics and placed 6th in the 3000m. I have also won the Laguna Invitational Junior Race DI race and the 1st League Meet at Temecula Valley.  Overall, I am a dedicated, passionate athlete who loves to compete in both sports and academics. I currently have a 4.6 weighted GPA during the first semester of my junior year and a 4.0 unweighted. Last year, I took nine academic classes, inclusive of four AP courses and two math classes, and attained a 4.3. I'm looking to major in International Relations and attend institution that is filled with students who are just as motivated and excited about learning as I am.
