Personal Statement
Hello my Name is Araya Williams I am 17 years old and I have been sprinting for over 11 years now. From the day I started club when I was 6 to 7 years old, my parents were always told that I had "what it takes". From that moment, yes, when I was 6, I decided to run until I couldn't run anymore and let track take me as far as possible. When my teachers asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would say "an Olympian". This dream has not stopped nor have I. I hope to represent my country in 2020 at the olympics and multiple other professional events. Everyday I work harder than the previous in order to make my dream a reality. In college I hope to have the same experiences as I did in high school. I have been on student council for 3 years and vice president of 2 clubs. I hope to join as many clubs as possible, become a great leader, and excel at everything I do in college on and off the track, as I have at Pomona Catholic. I also plan on majoring in Biology and being pre-med working towards my goal to attend New York University school of medicine, in order to be a Forensic Pathologist/Coroner. I truly believe i am the best asset to your team giving that I am hardworking, self-motivated, and a great quiet leader.
