I am hardworking, determined, and have a very high competitive spirit. My academic goals are to maintain a 4.0 GPA. I have talent that I am willing to improve. I began running in 7th grade for my middle school track team. The moment I began noticed that I could excel in the sport was when my distance coach had me run in the 8th-grade-mile race. Being a 7th grader and a new member of the team, I was shocked. No one knew what I was capable of providing and neither was I. That day, the coach looked at me and trying to encourage me, he told me that my goal should be not to end up last. Those words motivated me, I was angry that he felt I could provide little. Instead of taking out my anger on him, I decided to do my best and try to be in the top 6. I gave it my all and won 1st place! I learned to love the feeling, the feeling of how wanting something so bad and do anything to accomplish it. My motivation comes from the wise words Walter Bagehot observed, "The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do."
