Personal Statement
Throughout my high school cross country career I have had several injuries but have always been able to come back from them and finish the season with the team. My freshman year I had bruised and overused a muscle which kept me from practicing with the team for three weeks but during those weeks I trained on my own and did the recovery exercises as prescribed. I was able to finish the season tenth on my team. Previous to my injury I had been a varsity starter on the team. I believe that this along with a near identical experience my junior year demonstrates that I have the self-discipline and mental strength to come back from an injury as well as my dedication to the sport. Throughout all of this I have kept above a 4.5 GPA with my highest being a 4.83 the spring of my sophomore year. This past season I also had to miss three weeks from my cross country season but was able to come back and run for the varsity team at League (NBL's), Sections (NCS) and State.
