Personal Statement
My name is Bernadette Amofa, I am a junior now at Bishop Montgomery High School in Torrance California and I am in love with the sport, Track. Out on the field I am lovable, and super hilarious but when tested I am strong minded, and intelligent on what is portrayed on the field or in school. Throughout my whole life, I tend to put academics over sports, because without education you can't get through life. As a player, my vision is what people see out of me. I have the eye of seeing what is in front of me, beside me, and behind me. Out on the field, I have the vision to see my surroundings. I know when to pace myself or sprint during every race. Like as Allyson Felix said, "I am a big believer in visualization. I run through my races mentally so that I feel even more prepared." However, I am the player that does not give up on their teammates. I keep on going until I see perfection. As people say perseverance is the key to life. Despite that, during practice, I would tell my teammates to practice as we are in the CIF State Track and Field meet. In all, what I hope to get out of my college experience are to actually find my true identity, become an amazing role model, and to become an open-minded and out-of-the-box thinker on the field and during school and job.
