When I was young my mom put me in ballet but having two older brothers that didn't last long. They always had me in the backyard playing sports. My first recreational sport I signed up to play was soccer around the age of 8. I really enjoyed running fast to get the ball. I soon progressed to a Soccer Club team. From that point, I realized I liked to run. Going through elementary school I had P.E. instructor that would challenge us to run a timed mile every week. My best mile time as an 8th grader was right under 6 minutes. Our school had an annual Turkey Trot competition that our same P.E. instructor would train us for. I placed 3rd overall out of the girls during my middle school years. From there I joined the track team going into high school and made varsity as a freshman. During my freshman year, I also played volleyball for my high school team. Last year I played Club Volleyball for the Imua 16 Power Team which was out of the Salinas CA. area. It was very challenging to juggle two sports. I had school all day then track for 2-3 hours then two days a week I would travel 40 minutes each way for a 2 plus hour practice of Volleyball. Through this hectic schedule I managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA. I loved every minute of it and the friendships that I established with my teammates. At the end of the volleyball season I decided to commit to my running. I realized that I need to get stronger and faster as I have a goal to attend a D1 College. I am a very determined person and know you must work hard to achieve the desired results. I enjoy staying involved with the community and school clubs. CurrentlyI am involved with The Circle of Friends (interacting with special needs kids). I have a love for animals as we have three dogs and three cats. I also do volunteer work at the Monterey SPCA when I can.
